New Republican members of Congress:
Neal Dunn (FL C.D. 2)
John Faso (NY C.D. 19)
Brian Mast (FL C.D. 18)
Through the Congressional Leadership Fund we helped Elise Stefanik keep her seat in Congress (NY C.D. 21).
Through the NRCC Independent Expenditure, we helped defend Ryan Costello (PA CD 6), and assisted Brian Fitzpatrick (PA CD 8) and Lloyd Smucker (PA CD 16) in taking open seats.
McLaughlin & Associates and our subsidiary Opiniones Latinas, worked in tandem with the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) and the individual campaigns to poll for every Republican-held and contested state senate and state house seat in Miami-Dade County, with victories that include:
Senator Anitere Flores (SSD 39),
Senator-Elect Frank Artiles (SSD 40), Rep. Manny Diaz Jr. (HD 103), Rep. Carlos Trujillo (HD 105),
Speaker-Designate Jose Oliva (HD 110), Rep. Bryan Avila (HD 111), Rep. Michael Bileca (HD 115), Rep. José Félix Díaz (HD 116) and Rep. Jeanette Nuñez (HD 119). In a testament to the hard work of these campaigns, all candidates performed well despite the difficult political environment.
Across Florida, Keith Perry (SSD 8) and Dana Young (SSD 18) were both elected to the Florida State Senate, while Rep. Gayle Harrell won re-election (H.D. 83), and Sheriff William Snyder was re-elected in Martin County.
In Indiana, we defended 3 Republican incumbents seats:
Ed Charbonneau (SD 5), Brandt Hershman (SD 7) and Mike Young (SD 35); protected 3 open Republican seats: John Ruckelshaus (SD 30), Aaron Freeman (SD 32) and Jack Sandlin (SD 36); and took over 1 Democrat seat with a victory by Mike Bohacek (SD 8) for a record Republican super-majority of 41 out of 50 State Senate seats.
In New Jersey, Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield was re-elected, along with Surrogate Mary Ann O’Brien and Freeholder Latham “Robert” Tiver. In Somerset County, Patricia “Pat” Walsh was re-elected as Freeholder and Frank Provenzano was re-elected as Somerset County Sheriff.
In New York, State Senator Michael Venditto (SD 8) and John Bonacic (SD 42) both won re-election.
In Pennsylvania, Dan Laughlin pulled off a stunning upset in State Senate District 49, defeating an incumbent Democratic senator in a district where Democrats outnumber Republicans by 18-points and President Obama won by 20-points in 2012.
McLaughlin & Associates also polled for Rep. Stephen Bloom (HD 199) and on behalf of Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania (CAP), where Republicans picked up a seat in the Pennsylvania State Senate (John DiSanto – SSD 15) and a seat in the state house (Aaron Bernstine – HD 10), and on behalf of Commonwealth Partners Chamber of Entrepreneurs in State House Districts 156 (Rep. Dan Truitt) and 158 (Rep-Elect Eric Roe).
